Rivia

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM RIVIA – PIECE OF YOU

Liverpool four-piece RIVIA are on a mission to drag pop-punk and rock back into the spotlight, blending the swagger of ‘80s classic rock with the punch of 2000s alt-rock. They’ve already shared stages with The Wombats, Mallory Knox, and Bloxx and lit up festivals like Isle of Wight, Y Not, and Endorset. Known for huge hooks and high-octane live shows, they play every gig like it’s the biggest of their lives.

On their new single “Piece of You”, they waste no time .The guitars rip in, the drums hit hard and the vocals are right there with them from the very first second.

The verses carry a mix of frustration and raw honesty, with lines about “not wanting to be like you” and feeling “unrecognisable from the person I once knew”. It’s a song about hitting that breaking point, refusing to play the same games any longer but still wrestling with that lingering pull of wanting “a piece of you”. That tension fuels the track, giving every chord and drum hit extra weight.

The chorus is massive! The kind you can already imagine hundreds of voices screaming back at the band. Midway through, the bridge slows everything down just enough to make you think they’re about to ease off, before the riffs come crashing back in even harder.

Surely, “Piece of You” is built for the stage. Between the anthemic hook, the lyrical bite and those crazy guitar lines, this feels like the song that could ignite their live shows and stick in your head long after it ends. Urgent, defiant, and overflowing with energy, it’s a track that feels destined to become a crowd favourite.
