Following on from their two single releases in 2024, SHADE are kicking off the new year in style. Releasing ‘Trouble Calls My Name’ as their first piece of new music in 2025, the Manchester fourpiece have once again capitalised on the hype already surrounding them.
A song that pretty much encapsulates the Manchester music scene, ‘Trouble Calls My Name’ has a very formulaic sound but SHADE have taken that sound and given it new life. The song’s intro is very punchy and pulls the listener in before the melodic verses come though.
The chorus has a real Noel Gallagher feel to it and the breakdown absolutely reeks of the Stone Roses, but it works fantastically. Using a mixture of influences to create a new sound instead of blatantly ripping off someone else’s sound. I love it.
Above everything else, this track is incredibly catchy. Having been personally invited to perform in Italy by Louis Tomlinson back in 2023 and having their 2021 single ‘Fallen Skies’ featured on BT Sport’s Champions League coverage, the band clearly have a bright future ahead of them.
Releasing ‘Trouble Calls My Name’ at the start of this year will no doubt set them up for another fruitful year in the music industry, hopefully breaking new ground and showing more people what SHADE are all about. Check them out, they’re huge.
