STAINED GLASS

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM STAINED GLASS

Kitchen is the newest addition to Barnsley’s own ‘Stained Glass’.

A word of warning before you dive in, this band or this tune, is not for the faint-hearted, in the best possible way.

Stained Glass say they draw inspiration from Wolf Alice, Pixies, and My Bloody Valentine and they do well to mix a variety of metal, scream and rock whilst adding their own spice to it.

The start is HEAVY, and despite the odd blip of low tempo, is heavy throughout the entire tune.

The song itself sounds like a bit of an emotional journey, channelled by the heavy backing track, screams and lyrics describing pain, life and different life sentiments.

It’s the perfect anthem to rock out to if you’re angry, pumped or generally just want to feel electric, this will be a good one to go with.

I feel like Stained Glass are pushing the boundaries wherever possible, which isn’t a bad thing, stepping out the comfort zone, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it does create an intense and well-crafted track.

I’d be interested to see a music video which marries up to this, if they can push the boat even further.

Overall you can tell a lot of work went into it, with it’s high-paced backing track, incredible vocal range and pungent lyrics, it’s one to listen out for.
