The Bad Actors return today with new single ‘Roswell’, in collaboration with producer David Sanderson (Reverend and The Makers). The new exciting outfit are bringing waves of funk to the autumn months with their characteristic orange glow. The pounding beats match the energy of their expressive guitar – coming together to create roaring melodies.
Certainly ones to watch, The Bad Actors, have a daredevil rock vibe. Demonstrated by new single ‘Roswell’, a real earworm of a track. Naming their influences Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police and Jimi Hendrix is fitting. As they bring the passion and energy that tie these acts together.
Frontman Khalil has been seen scissor-kicking across festival stages over summer, with his voltaic stage presence winning the band slots at Isle of Wight, Hillsborough festival, and a Riverside festival headline with previous projects.
Whilst drummer Jay’s laid-back style, matching his own personality in feel but not in introversion, forms the springboard for Khalil’s antics. Unsurprisingly, this has made them a hit on social media, pulling thousands of views on their videos and getting fans all the more excited for their intensely fun live shows.
A duo that has been rocking together since their schooldays, they have the chemistry that seems to leak into their music and creates a real personal, interconnecting feel to their sound. Where they began with punk-rock roots, they have grown into a more embedded groove and really captured their sound. They’ve tackled themes of infidelity, homelessness and existential longing in neat 3 minute packages, capturing their vulnerabilities. In ‘Roswell’ they capture the feeling of overthinking and paranoia while managing to trap the melody in your mind. It’ll have you humming away for days.
The Bad Actors are here for a good time. The music is energetic, the message is bright. They’ve already begun painting the town orange and do not intend to stop.
