Mancunian band, The Fairway, have released their newest track ‘Soundtrack Your Life‘ and it is certainly a track for those who love anything indie.
These guys aren’t big on social media but with this track coming out I am more than sure they will gain more recognition from indie-rock fans who love small bands. The guys have supported bands on stage in their hometown, Salford and have a headline gig in Salford in December where they are teasing playing unreleased songs, sounds like a good gig to me!
The band have certainly not diverted from their Manchester roots with this track. The vocals have that strong Mancunian accent we all love within indie tracks, and the electric guitar is irresistible within the tune. It reminds me a lot of the indie bands that have come out of Manchester and these guys are just adding their touch to the scene. It seems like a song that reminds people to live and not waste any time, make the most out of life.
The only downside to this track is the vocals are quite monotone and have the same rhythm throughout the song. There’s nothing different from one chorus to the other. The instrumental is upbeat with the guitar having a mini solo and the drums being hard-hitting whereas the vocals let it down a little bit, it just sounds as if the vocalist is more talking in the song than actually singing. This is something the band can really work on to give their songs more of a cheery atmosphere in the songs.
