WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE FROM THE SHED PROJECT

From a shed in Bolton to sold-out shows across the UK, indie rock group The Shed Project have amassed fans far and wide with their charismatically cool sound. But now they’ve put their songwriting abilities to the test for their latest release I’ve Got The Blues.

THE SHED PROJECT

Vocalist Roy Fletcher says, “This is probably one of the hardest songs I’ve ever written, it’s been like therapy,” when discussing the single’s delicate subject matter, which was written in tribute to two of the frontman’s close friends who were taken too young.

The song honours these individuals with striking grace and sensitivity. Fletcher reflects on his grief through an elegant piano introduction wrapped in rich, flourishing strings.

It develops effortlessly while breaking around one-minute-twenty where the band backs his emotive lyrics with softened drums and faintly overdriven guitar licks. This lift elevates the track to a higher plane, representing the bittersweetness of life and death.

While I’ve Got The Blues is the first of its kind from The Shed Project, it still maintains the charm that fans have grown to love. The stunning tribute is available NOW.
