An artist that’s been on my radar for quite some time, LearningToDive always exceeds each release. Innovative, creative, and focusing on real subject matters, the new single “Rise” evokes a man’s journey through a wilderness of despair.
Quite a hard-hitting subject. This is something the world desperately needs to hear. It might be indie-esque but it’s definitely alternative.
Taking a trip-hop and post-punk journey with his music, Bravo Bonez (the mind behind it all), the track focuses on serious thoughts, messages, and perspectives of our world.
Probably not for the faint-hearted with its message, the music, however, is vibrant, retro, and lo-fi in places.
Relatable, but not autobiographical as such. It’s a real hard-hitter in the way that we can appreciate the song in a way of despair, especially with the state of the globe at the moment.
Musically, the track is endearing. You don’t know where it’s going to end up. You can try and guess all you want, but you still won’t guess.
I like how Bravo is staying to his roots and not molding himself to get chart success, to me, that’s even more successful.
Stating to never give up in the music and to simply “Rise” through it all, it’s motivational and empowering to say the very least.
Dark. Haunting. In places sinister. This has film blockbuster music written all over it.
You could picture LearningToDive getting a huge support slot for Massive Attack with great ease.
