It’s almost a minute until the track comes fully into place, but when it does, there’s no mistaking that this song is suited perfectly for a dancefloor. A feel-good bop that can lift your spirits up to the highest they’ve been in months, ‘Tongue-Tied’ is a celebration of love in all its forms.
Samantha Gibb‘s vocals reminisce artists such as Shania Twain if Shania went full-blown pop, which is never a bad thing to be compared to one of the Queens of Pop. It’s best described as an earworm that could inspire a generation to live their best lives, the way they want to. It’s all about disregarding the world’s judgments and opinions and encouraging people to focus on the positive aspects of what love is all about.
There’s so many walls up in the world where people don’t agree with what ‘love’ should be, but this track really unites the true meaning of what love is and that’s kindness, if someone is happy, that’s all that matters.
Musically, the track resides in an electronic pop soundscape with a gorgeous soulful vocal over the top, guiding it through layers of fun synths and infectious energy. I’m writing this review on a summer’s day and can already tell this track is going to stay with me for the rest of the season.
