WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE ‘WICKED WORKS’ BY AK STELLA
Industrial. Moody. Sassy. What more could you want from a new single in today’s industry?
AK Stella’s second single is about betrayal and hoping that karma can work this time. “Wicked Works” hears a songwriter get up, close and personal with her fans, and states to never get on the wrong side of her.
Whether you relate to the lyrics or not, everyone can appreciate this artist oozes pure talent. What I love most about the creation is the interesting influences behind AK Stella’s sound.
You can hear a lot of grunge inspirations through her music like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, a bit of Nirvana and Pearl Jam, too. There are still moments of iconic pop stars though. You could easily hear this songwriter share center stage with Miley Cyrus.
What I love about this songwriter is her ability to write songs so well. It seems like AK Stella was put on this earth to be a songwriter.
The production in this single is ethereal but still keeps you on the edge of your seat. Vocally, the melody is enchanting and really interesting. It doesn’t stick to a normal concept. It floats like a bird just finding out it has wings.
Armed with a gorgeous tone and exceptional vision for the future, “Wicked Works” fits my alternative playlist perfectly.
Electronica moments, alternative structures, emotional textures… “Wicked Works” serenades the soul and reassures listeners that you don’t need toxic people in your life.
