The modulation in Kapture’s ‘Without You’ is breathtaking. RnB has a new face and it’s this artist straight from Los Angeles. Short but sweet, the track is prominently RnB but there are elements of rap, pop, and dance. One word to sum it up? Badass. It’s empowerment at its finest and gears up Kapture for a huge career ahead.
On the new release, Gabrielle Lambro, aka Kapture, works with Sam J Garfield to create this lo-fi groove that even has elements of neo-soul. The lyrics are rhythmical and flow easily, there’s no forcefield in the process, and they’re fluid throughout.
The longing nature of the synths and the timeless vocals create a wall of sound that swims freely through love and loss. Ultimately, the song stays in the middle of holding on and letting go. Whereas it leans between the two emotions, the track picks itself off and dusts off its jeans.
It has moments of sadness and moments where you really think the person you miss could come crawling back, but the track reminds listeners the only person they can truly depend on is themselves.
If the track was able to wear clothing, it would be jeans as it’s layered with swagger and character. They might be slightly torn though…
Kapture’s vocals are innovative and encapsulate artists such as Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj yet Gabrielle (aka Kapture) is her own boss in this song.
