'YOU AND ME' BY CHRISTINE TARQUINIO

WE REVIEW THE NEW SINGLE ‘YOU AND ME’ BY CHRISTINE TARQUINIO

A moving letter in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ‘You And Me‘ is a desire for freedom. Christine Tarquinio’s new single is emotive but in the right places. The Australian artist inspires listeners to always be true to themselves and see the good in people.

‘You And Me’ still holds an upbeat persona and an optimistic nature. Embracing unity and the strength to carry on, this song still feels valid. Expressing hope for a better future, it feels even more relevant with the war in Ukraine.

Prominently pop, the lyrics aren’t as imaginative as hoped for but they’re armed with a sweet vocal that captures the moving time we all went through three years ago. Written quite easily during in lockdown, the song wrote seemingly wrote itself due to heightened emotions.

Produced by Joshua Hennessy, “You And Me” enters with the sound of vintage electric guitars, before launching into a stunning rhythm. Christine’s poetic vocals steal the spotlight even if they seem quite simple. It’s straight to the point and easy to follow – EXACTLY what you want from a pop song.

An inspiring artist that you’d be proud to support from here on out, there’s a delightful nature in Christine’s songwriting. Role model material and someone you wouldn’t mind your kids looking up to, this is an artist that certainly turned a negative situation into something quite beautiful.

Elegant yet professional, her songwriting feels classic. Due to release a highly anticipated EP next month.
