Yorkshire indie rock band Follow Deep drop their new head banger, ‘Haunted’. If you especially like fat riffs and moody hooks you’re going to want to give this one a spin. A dark, gritty indie rock anthem packed with live show intensity that’s becoming something of a trademark for the alt rockers.
A poetically haunting riff that kicks things off from the get go and refuses to let up. It’s a statement of intent, ringing around your head like a storm. The guitars hit hard, full of tension while the vocals ride the line between melancholy and anger. Emotional and completely addictive. They shift throughout finding the space to breathe and the moments to knock your socks off.
Instrumentality it’s certainly very strong, guitars stop and start with a swagger that’s commanding and the rhythm section groove gives real weight and direction to every bar. You can’t help but nod along, it’s like trying not to like the sugar off your lips after a doughnut. Simply impossible.
It’s obvious even from the recording that Follow Deep thrives on stage. You can hear that raw live energy bleeding through every note. The challenge for a lot of bands is how this translates on record, but Follow Deep have nailed it. In fact it feels like you’re right there in the front row.
Haunted is a reminder that Follow Deep are a band made for the live stage, it’s rough around the edges, but intentionally so. Above all, it’s a dark indie rock banger with genuine intent, loaded with riffs you simply can’t ignore! Make sure your volume is on 11 for this one. Stream Haunted now on all platforms!
