SHADE

WE REVIEW THE NEW SONG FROM SHADE – NEVERDIE

Manchester’s indie scene is constantly evolving with the likes of The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Verve, Inspiral Carpets all paving the way for future bands such as SHADE.

SHADE are a 3-piece band who have stuck to their indie roots through and through. With 3.5K monthly listeners, this band certainly deserves more recognition as their talent is flawless and their sound is unique for the Manchester scene.

Neverdie greets you with a calm entrance. The acoustic guitar that is carried through the song and a drum beat so catchy grips you from the get-go. Not only this, the classic use of a tambourine shimmers in and out the song. We are then enticed by the cracking vocals that are very Mancunian but the power behind the vocals is unmissable. The whole song sounds brilliant and is fresh for the indie-rock scene. Towards the end of the track, we are left with a guitar solo which sends the song off wonderfully and is the touch that it needed.

This song does give major classic Manchester vibes but is solely their own and the band have a modern twist to their songs. The lyrics within the song talk about a person called ‘Sally’ who never dies. This can be compared to one of the biggest indie tracks of all time, Don’t Look Back In Anger.

SHADE have perfected their own sound marvellously, they are certainly one of the more underrated bands around at the moment. If you don’t listen to SHADE I highly recommend giving this tune a listen, and getting more into their other tracks as you will not be disappointed!
