Alternative pop artist David Med presents his latest single ‘RUSH’ which lives up to its title in its fast pace, short run time and chaotic nature and is simply a burst of fun.
The track doesn’t have a complex lyrical tale or much instrumental depth but this is what makes this song great, with a punk-like energy running through the release which plays into Med’s strengths.
Opening with speech from David in which he talks about his teachers disbelief and immediately his humour and wit shines through with a giggle before the instrumentation enters.
The chorus is the highlight of the track and a complete earworm, sung in a stabbed fashion which gives the track a great amount of energy and momentum, it is pure pop brilliance with the instrumentation having enough character to acts as a bouncy backbone to Med.
‘RUSH’ is light-hearted, humorous and what really transpires to the listener is that David is having fun. The end product may not be the most polished with some pitching issues in places however the single is stuffed with serotonin and I hope to hear more of this on his upcoming debut album ‘First Times’
