A new festival is in town, Northampton town, we love what Joe and Elliot are creating here and urge you to check out this brilliant new event.
Who are the people involved?
We are The Scratched Record Podcast – two lads from the East Midlands attempting to provide a platform for up-and-coming bands, as well as interview some of the biggest artists from around the world. We have run a podcast for over two years now and interviewed the likes of The Wombats, The Kooks, JaackMaate and loads more. We also run clothing lines and provide some of the best and most unique merch for bands and events. Finally, we have started gig promotion – attempting to organise the best and most exciting gigs around the country… as well as the odd festival now and again!
What is Town Takeover?
Town Takeover is a multi-venue indie/alternative music festival in the heart of Northampton. We have endeavoured to bring the best talent from around the UK to Northampton and get them to play across the town throughout the day. 25 artists are performing across four venues in one big day of indie music in the town. Tickets are £20 and this gets you a wristband to all four venues all day. We also have an after party that will see indie tunes until 3am and a chance to meet a load of the bands as well as our mates.
The venues are The Black Prince, The Lab, Brooklyn Social and Phipps Albion Bar, with music being on from 3-11pm. Set times will be out now so go to tsrp.co.uk or @theSRpodcast to find out more.
The headliners are BILK, The Covasettes and Second Thoughts – all of which are world-class bands that will be playing in massive venues within a year of now. Artists like Abbie Ozard, Molly Burman, L’objectif, and The Clause are some of the most well-respected and exciting acts from all around the country and most of them may never play Northampton again – it’s a huge opportunity to experience them. We’ve also added loads of our favourite up and coming bands, both local and from around the UK. The Barratts, Phantom Isle, and Rat Race are all massive in the local scene and this will be a great way to see them. The Motive, Solar Strides, The Flitz, Elliot Williams, and more are all bands that have our stamp of approval. All in all, the lineup is stacked full of amazing music and it’s going to be a great day to drink, eat and listen to some top music.
How do I buy tickets?
Tickets are available from tsrp.co.uk – early birds are sold out but you can still get general admission at £20 which includes all four venues all day. There is also an after-party ticket for £6 which includes some surprise guests and indie tunes from 11-3 am at The Black Prince. Lots of artists will hang around for it and we will have lots of friends there so it’s going to be one big party.
Grab your tickets now and help us to create a truly vibrant event in Northampton, and allow us to grow it for years to come.
